Shibori is a Japanese hand dyeing technique used on fabric to create patterns that spread unevenly across the fabric. The resulting patterns are often said to be Japan’s appreciation of the beauty of imperfection – known locally as wabi sabi – and are prized for their individuality and beauty.
I just adore these hand dyed prints, they seem to be both calming and skirting at the same time......I hand printed the design onto a quality plush velvet fabric.....and combined with Pure Irish Linen I thought they would make wonderful wheat bags.
My Shibori Themed Wheat Bag is a wonderful alternative to the traditional Hot Water Bottle. Measures 28cm wide at the widest point and is 27cm tall....stitched into sections. This holds the wheat in the Hot Water Bottle Shape and also helps it to mould around the body beautifully. It give extra life to the fabric to as there is never too much weight in just the one area.
The Eye Pillow addition make a lovely gift set...perfect cold for puff free bright eyes or heated for relaxation or dry eyes. The wheat eye pillow measures 22cm by 12cm.
My Wheat bag bottles are heated in the microwave to prepare them for a relaxing snuggle or pain relief.
Wheat Bags are extremely versatile and can be used by warming them the microwave or freezer in the freezer and used as a cold pack. Adding Lavender to your wheat bags soothing aromatherapy properties to increase relaxation. As well as being a cosy natural sensory replacement for a traditional hot water bottle they can be used on isolated areas to help with:
Neck and shoulder tension
Back pain
Muscle aches and stiff joints
Arthritis pain
Headaches and Migraines
Tired and puffy eyes
Dry eyes
Cramps
Swelling
Sport injuries
